Mother's Day is coming up on May 14th and I am so thrilled to be adding some lovely new picture books to our "mom" collection this year. Our top 10 list includes some old favourites, classics that we will always cherish, and some new, stunning picture books recently released. What do you think of these Mother's Day reads, any favourites?

Love You Forever

How to Spot a Mom
by Donna Amey Bhatt, artwork by Aura Lewis (Wide Eyed Editions)
A brilliantly clever and sweet ode that celebrates mom in every way, shape and form. It is a fun book for kids to read with mom, which shares funny details about every possible type of mom under the sun. It even includes the definition of a mom, the anatomy of a mom, and special mom skills.

Tough Like Mum
by Lana Button, artwork by Carmen Mok (Tundra Books)
A powerful story that offers readers an insightful look into the hardships of low income families, single-parenthood, and depression. It also shares the love within families, exploring the mother/daughter relationship, and reminds us that sometimes ‘being tough’ means asking for help.

Mama and Mommy and Me in the Middle

A sweet, rhyming story about a typical day a mom spends with her children. From lovingly brushing their hair in the morning to running errands together during the day, to playing in the park, this charming story shares the simple but special moments shared between a mother and her children.

Well Done, Mommy Penguin

An incredibly beautiful poetry picture book that shares a wonderfully diverse group of mothers through its stunning artwork.
