What is Kids Corner Book Club all about...
Kid's Corner book club is a social after school and weekend program for kids ages 5-12 years old. The goal is to encourage kids to read for pleasure, for families to read together, and to help make literacy fun for everyone. During book club, kids will meet to dicuss the selected book for that week and then participate in a hands-on activity that will help extend their reading and literacy experience in a fun and creative way.
Budding Readers
Saturday
1:00pm - 2:30pm
For children who are learning to read, reading with assistance or just starting to read on their own, for grades 1 and 2 (agea 6-7 years).

Saturday sessions run once a month from September to June. Each meeting is 90 minutes in length and includes a copy of the book, the book discussion, literacy activities/games, a brief introduction of the next book, and a book inspired craft.
Blooming Readers

3:00pm - 4:30pm
For children who are beginning to read on their own or with some assistance, for grades 3 and 4 (ages 8-9 years).
Saturday sessions run once a month from September to June. Each meeting is 90 minutes in length and includes a copy of the book, the book discussion, literacy activities/games, a brief introduction of the next book, and a book inspired craft.
Flourishing Readers

For youth who are reading independently, read for pleasure, and are looking to challenge their literacy and social skills. For ages 10 to 12 years old.

Seedlings

This 45-minute session is best suited for pre-readers and children who show an interest in books and reading.
For ages 4 to 5 years old.

Each session runs for 10 weeks with one meeting per week, for a total of 10 books/meetings. Each meeting is 50 minutes in length and includes a copy of the book, a read aloud of the book followed by a discussion, literacy games, and a book inspired craft.
Graphic Novel Club

A fantastic and fun book club group exclusively for fans of graphic novels, for ages of 9 to 12 years old.

Each session runs for 3 months with two meetings per month, for a total of 6 books/meetings. Each meeting is 60 minutes in length and includes a copy of the book, the book discussion, a brief introduction of the next book, and a graphic novel inspired activity.
Summer Reading Club​

Keep up your reading and social skills during the summmer in our 8 week outdoor summer reading club. For youth, ages 7-10 years old.

This session runs for 8 weeks, July-August, with one meeting per week, for a total of 8 books/meetings. Each meeting is 75 minutes in length and includes a copy of the book, the book discussion, literacy activities/games, a brief introduction of the next book, and a book inspired craft.
